This is MA – the space between edges, the space and time in which we experience life.
MA is nothing other than possibility.
MA is the time and space we need while living, to breathe, to feel, and to connect.
In the silence of MA, free from noise, we connect on the fleeting level of our souls.

The contemporary Western world feeds on repletion, and the concept of emptiness awakens anxiety in the overstimulated consciousness. Empty space is
inextricably associated today with lack and scarcity, awakening a longing for fulfillment.
The perception of the world occurs through building upon and appropriating this space. We function in a state of suspension amidst an onslaught of things, images, and
information. The ubiquitous dynamics of change determine our attitudes towards ever – new systems and dependencies, which remain in a state of permanent reorganization.
Trying to keep up with the constantly evolving fullness of the world, we passively become a part of it. Mindfulness in this cannonade of stimuli becomes difficult and fleeting, and
the deep, individual experience of the here and now humbly gives way to that which is ever-new and demanding of attention. Persisting in this rush serves superficiality.
Rushing through this overload, we learn to be satisfied with the fleeting presence of events and things, ignoring their individuality, depth, and uniqueness.
The painting of Anna Mielniczyk confronts us with this state of affairs. It captures the viewer’s attention and sensitivity in the small crevices of reality, where
emptiness hides in the places between what is full and overloaded. Peeking into these worlds fortified by invisibility becomes a mystical adventure when communing
with her paintings. The refined language of colorful mists and glazes allows one to experience the hidden, non-obvious spaces within the paintings. Their subtlety captures
the attention and, in doing so, slows down our accelerated, dynamic perception. In her creative process, the artist follows the path of the Japanese philosophy of MA,
undertaking the difficult attempt to depict emptiness, the space in between, a pause for breath and stillness. Using a sublime language of colors and ephemeral forms, she
creates with her art a kind of mysterious passage to another dimension, where in brief moments of pause, a space opens up for a new, profound experience. The works of
Anna Mielniczyk lead the viewer into a meditative trance. They do not build a story, nor do they systematize or order the world. The artistic language of her paintings stands in
opposition to a semiotic narrative. The truth about emptiness, whispered by the artist, meanders between systems of words and meanings, and the delicacy and transience of
the forms contained in the paintings do not impose their presence on the viewer. Yet, we stand before them in anticipation. This anticipation seems to be the essence of her art.
A place for a breath, a freezing in the moment.
